Panikkbeslag
Panikkbeslag, often translated as panic fitting or panic hardware, refers to a type of door hardware designed for emergency exits. Its primary function is to allow occupants to quickly and easily open a door from the inside during a fire or other emergency situation, even if they are unfamiliar with the building's layout or are experiencing panic. This is typically achieved through a horizontal bar that spans most of the width of the door. Applying downward pressure on this bar causes the locking mechanism to retract, thereby opening the door.
