Palpationsmanövrar, or palpation maneuvers, are a series of physical examination techniques used by healthcare professionals to assess the size, shape, texture, and mobility of internal organs and other structures within the body. These maneuvers involve the use of the hands to feel and assess these structures through the skin.

Common palpation maneuvers include light palpation, where the practitioner gently touches the surface of the abdomen to detect tenderness or superficial masses, and deep palpation, which involves applying more pressure to feel deeper organs like the liver, spleen, or kidneys. Ballottement is another maneuver used to assess organs that are not firmly fixed, allowing them to be pushed and rebound, often used for detecting enlarged organs or ascites. Percussion, which involves tapping on the body surface to produce sounds that indicate the density of underlying structures, is often performed in conjunction with palpation. Auscultation, listening to internal sounds with a stethoscope, is also frequently combined with palpation to gain a comprehensive understanding of a patient's condition.

These maneuvers are fundamental to the physical examination and play a crucial role in diagnosing a wide range of medical conditions, from gastrointestinal disorders to musculoskeletal injuries.
