Pacius
Pacius, full name Carl Gustaf Pacius (also Karl Gustav Pacius), 1809–1891, was a Baltic German–Finnish composer, conductor, and educator. Born in Pärnu, he moved to Finland in the 1830s and became a central figure in Helsinki’s emerging musical life, contributing as a conductor, teacher, and organizer of musical activities. He is commonly regarded as a foundational figure in Finnish classical music and a key promoter of music education in the country.
