PSP3000

The PSP3000, officially known as the PlayStation Portable 3000, is a handheld game console developed and marketed by Sony Computer Entertainment. It is the third major revision of the original PSP and was first released in October 2008 in Japan, followed by releases in North America, Europe, and other regions.

Key improvements over its predecessor, the PSP2000, include a significantly enhanced display. The PSP3000 features a new LCD screen with a faster response time, wider color gamut, and a higher contrast ratio, which reduces motion blur and provides a more vibrant visual experience. It also introduced anti-reflection technology to improve visibility in bright conditions. The console also incorporated a built-in microphone, allowing for voice chat in games and other applications without the need for an external headset.

Other notable features of the PSP3000 include a redesigned D-pad for improved accuracy, a sleeker form factor, and support for Skype, enabling voice calls over Wi-Fi. The console retained the core functionalities of previous PSP models, such as the ability to play Universal Media Disc (UMD) games, watch movies, listen to music, and browse the internet. It continued to be compatible with a vast library of PSP software and a selection of PlayStation 1 Classics. The PSP3000 was available in various color options and ultimately contributed to Sony's presence in the handheld gaming market during its generation.
