PETscannerns
PETscanners refers to Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scanners. These are medical imaging devices used in nuclear medicine to observe metabolic processes in the body. PET scanners work by detecting pairs of gamma rays emitted indirectly by a positron-emitting radionuclide (a radiotracer) that is introduced into the body on a biologically active molecule. The radiotracer is typically injected, inhaled, or swallowed.
When the radiotracer reaches the target area in the body, it emits positrons. These positrons then collide
PET scans are valuable for diagnosing and monitoring a wide range of conditions. They are commonly used
