PETMRICT, or Positron Emission Tomography/Magnetic Resonance Imaging/Computed Tomography, refers to a hybrid medical imaging technique that combines three distinct modalities: Positron Emission Tomography (PET), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), and Computed Tomography (CT). This advanced imaging approach aims to provide comprehensive diagnostic information by leveraging the strengths of each modality while mitigating their individual limitations.

Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is a functional imaging technique that uses radioactive tracers to observe metabolic processes in the body. PET scans are particularly useful for identifying areas of abnormal metabolic activity, such as tumors or regions affected by neurodegenerative diseases. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), on the other hand, is a non-invasive imaging technology that generates detailed images of the body’s internal structures using magnetic fields and radio waves. Computed Tomography (CT) uses X-rays to create cross-sectional images of the body, offering detailed views of bone, blood vessels, and soft tissues with high spatial resolution.
