Owakudani
Owakudani, or the Great Boiling Valley, is a volcanic valley in the Hakone area of Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. It lies within the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park and sits on the rim of the Hakone caldera, formed by the region’s ongoing volcanic activity. The landscape is marked by active fumaroles, sulfur vents, hot springs and steam pools, with views toward Lake Ashi on clear days.
