Osmoottinen
Osmoottinen is an adjective in Finnish that describes phenomena, substances, or processes related to osmosis. Osmosis refers to the passive movement of a solvent, usually water, through a semi-permeable membrane from a region of lower solute concentration to a region of higher solute concentration, with the aim of balancing solute concentrations on both sides of the membrane. The term osmoottinen is used to describe anything governed by or utilizing this osmotic movement.
