Organisasjonshierarkier, also known as organizational hierarchies, refer to the layered structure within an organization that defines reporting relationships and authority levels. This structure typically arranges employees from the top leadership down to entry-level positions, with each level having a specific degree of control and responsibility.

At the apex of the hierarchy is usually the chief executive officer (CEO) or a board of directors, followed by various management levels such as senior managers, middle managers, and supervisors. Each level reports to the one above it, creating a chain of command. This vertical structure facilitates decision-making, communication, and accountability.

Different types of organizational hierarchies exist, including tall hierarchies, which have many layers and narrow spans of control, and flat hierarchies, which have fewer layers and wider spans of control.
