Orezia
Orezia is a genus of flowering plants in the family Asteraceae, native to the Mediterranean region. The genus was first described by Carl Linnaeus in 1753. Orezia is characterized by its small, daisy-like flowers, which are typically yellow or white, and its hairy, glandular leaves. The plants are perennial herbs, growing to a height of about 10-30 centimeters. Orezia species are often used in landscaping and as ornamental plants due to their attractive appearance and low maintenance requirements. The genus includes several species, with Orezia capensis being one of the most well-known. Orezia capensis, also known as the Cape daisy, is native to South Africa and is widely cultivated for its vibrant yellow flowers. The genus Orezia is not closely related to the genus Oreosolen, which is also a member of the Asteraceae family. Orezia plants are generally easy to grow and can thrive in a variety of soil types, making them a popular choice for gardeners.
