It describes a tendency towards extreme neatness, organization, and a strong desire for things to be in their proper place. While a certain degree of orderliness is common and often beneficial, Ordnungszwänge goes beyond mere tidiness. Individuals experiencing this may feel significant distress or anxiety if their environment or routines are disrupted.
