Operatsioonijärjekord, also known as the order of operations, is a set of rules used in mathematics to ensure that an expression is evaluated in a consistent and unambiguous manner. Without a standard order, different mathematicians could arrive at different answers for the same problem. The most commonly used acronym for remembering the order of operations is PEMDAS, which stands for Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication and Division (from left to right), and Addition and Subtraction (from left to right).
