Ookeanien

Ookeanien is a sovereign state in the central Ookean archipelago. It consists of a main island and numerous smaller islands, with a varied coastline featuring mangroves in the south and temperate forests in the north. The capital is Lirva, on the western coast, and the largest port is Port Salis. The population is roughly three million. The official language is Ookeanian; minority languages include Silai and Kril.

Ookeanien operates as a constitutional parliamentary democracy. The president is largely ceremonial, while the prime minister heads the government. Legislation is enacted by a unicameral Assembly of Representatives, and the judiciary is independent. The country is divided into six administrative provinces.

The economy is diversified, with fishing, maritime services, tourism, and light manufacturing as major sectors. Exports include seafood and industrial goods; the country maintains a network of ports and incentives for investment. The national currency is the Ookean.

Ookeanien is urbanizing rapidly in the north while coastal and rural communities remain common in the south. The population includes several ethnic and linguistic groups, with cultural life anchored in seafaring traditions, festivals, and seafood cuisine. Education is compulsory through age 16, and several universities and research institutes operate nationwide.

Historically, the region has seafaring roots. The modern state took shape in the mid-20th century after a peaceful referendum and constitutional reforms. Ookeanien participates in regional and international organizations focused on maritime security, trade, and environmental protection.
