Onismétlés

Onismétlés is French term that refers to the psychological phenomenon where an individual recalls past events or memories through the sensations, emotions, and sensory details that were present during their initial experience. The term onismétlés is derived from the Greek words "onos" or "lios" meaning " layer" and "metalapsis" meaning "to lift or raise."

This concept is closely related to the philosophical and psychological theories of Friedrich Nietzsche, who described onismétlés as a form of "re-memberment," a process where past experiences are reconstructed and re-lived through the re-activation of associated muscle memories and sensory perceptions.
