Omlördela

Omlördela is a theoretical concept within linguistics that describes the potential for a word or phrase to undergo a transformation in its meaning or usage based on a perceived shift in its original context or intended purpose. This phenomenon is not about a simple semantic change over time, but rather a more active and deliberate reinterpretation, often driven by social or cultural factors.

The idea of omlördela suggests that an audience, when encountering a familiar linguistic unit, might consciously or subconsciously decide to assign it a new meaning or function, effectively "reordering" its intended denotation. This can occur when a word becomes associated with a new trend, movement, or even a satirical purpose.
