Omepratsoli
Omepratsoli is a medication belonging to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). It is primarily used to treat conditions caused by excessive stomach acid. This includes gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), where stomach acid flows back into the esophagus, causing heartburn and other symptoms. Additionally, it is used to help heal erosive esophagitis, a condition where the esophagus is damaged by stomach acid, and to reduce the risk of stomach ulcers in people taking nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). In certain cases, omepratsoli may also be used to treat Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, a rare disorder characterized by the production of too much stomach acid.
