Omaisuudense

Omaisuudense is a theoretical concept used in political economy and sociology to describe the density and structure of property relations within an economy or society. The term appears in Finnish-language scholarly discussions and is formed from omaisuus, meaning property, with a suffix intended to convey concentration or density. It is employed to analyze how ownership of assets such as land, housing, capital, and intellectual property is distributed, regulated, and made accessible, and how these patterns relate to broader social and economic outcomes.

The concept encompasses several dimensions. Key components include ownership concentration, access to essential assets, and the legal and institutional protections surrounding property. It also considers the management and control of productive resources, including corporate ownership networks, inherited rights, and the role of financial markets. Researchers may assess omaisuudense through indicators such as wealth distribution, tenure security, liquidity of assets, and the complexity of ownership structures, supplemented by assessments of state institutions, taxation, and regulatory frameworks.

Applications and interpretation.
