Oikeudenkäyntielimiä refers to the bodies or organs that conduct legal proceedings in Finland. These are primarily courts, which are responsible for administering justice. The Finnish judicial system is structured into a hierarchy of courts. At the lowest level are the district courts (käräjäoikeudet), which handle most civil and criminal cases. Above the district courts are the courts of appeal (hovioikeudet), which review decisions made by the district courts. The highest court in Finland is the Supreme Court (korkein oikeus), which hears appeals from the courts of appeal and has a significant role in developing case law.
In addition to these general courts, there are specialized courts. For instance, the administrative courts (hallinto-oikeudet)
