Odelous is a fictional city-state in the fantasy setting of Veridia, located on the eastern edge of the Archipelago of Nereid. The city sits along a sheltered crescent harbor that has long served as a hub for sea trade, shipbuilding, and crafts. In Veridian geography, Odelous functions as the principal maritime power within its region, with networks extending to inland towns and neighboring islands.

The name Odelous derives from the Odellan word odell, meaning shorewatch, reflecting its historical role as a coastal sentinel and trading post.

Origins and history have shaped its development. Founded in the early medieval period by Odellan mariners, Odelous grew as a trading post under regional overlords. It gained self-rule in the 13th century after a treaty with northern polities and later entered a golden age in glassmaking and timber trade.
