OLTPOLAP
OLTPOLAP is an informal term describing architectures and systems that combine online transaction processing (OLTP) and online analytical processing (OLAP) capabilities to support both high-volume transactional workloads and analytical queries from a single platform or tightly integrated environment. The concept reflects a shift away from strictly separated transactional databases and data warehouses toward more unified or closely coordinated solutions that enable near-real-time analytics on current operational data.
Design approaches range from co-located but isolated storage and processing layers, to true hybrid transactional/analytical processing
Potential benefits include reduced latency for analytics, simplified data pipelines, lower data movement costs and faster
Challenges include resource contention between transactional and analytical workloads, increased architectural complexity, consistency and isolation trade-offs,
