ODSstål

ODSstål is a term used to describe a specific type of steel alloy. The designation ODS stands for Oxide Dispersion Strengthened, which refers to the key characteristic of these materials. ODS steels are produced by incorporating fine, uniformly dispersed oxide particles within a metallic matrix. These oxide particles, typically ceramics like aluminum oxide or yttrium oxide, are introduced through specialized manufacturing processes, often involving mechanical alloying or powder metallurgy.

The presence of these dispersed oxide particles significantly enhances the mechanical properties of the steel, particularly at elevated temperatures.
