Nátriumvesztés, also known as sodium loss, refers to a condition where the body loses an excessive amount of sodium. Sodium is a vital electrolyte crucial for maintaining fluid balance, nerve impulse transmission, and muscle function. Significant loss of sodium can disrupt these processes and lead to various health problems.

Causes of nátriumvesztés can include excessive sweating, particularly in hot environments or during intense physical activity, vomiting, diarrhea, and the use of certain diuretic medications. In rarer cases, kidney disorders or adrenal insufficiency can also impair the body's ability to conserve sodium.
