Nyílásorosága

Nyílásorosága is a Hungarian term that translates to "openness of the row" or "row openness". It is a concept used in various contexts, most notably in the field of optics and photography, but it can also be applied metaphorically to other systems. In optics, nyílásorosága refers to the degree to which a diaphragm or aperture in a lens is open, allowing light to pass through. This is directly related to the f-number, where a smaller f-number indicates a larger aperture opening and thus a higher nyílásorosága. A greater openness allows more light to reach the sensor or film, enabling shorter exposure times or better performance in low-light conditions. Conversely, a smaller aperture opening, or lower nyílásorosága, reduces the amount of light.

The concept of nyílásorosága also influences the depth of field. A wider aperture (higher nyílásorosága) results in a shallower depth of field, meaning only a narrow range of distances will be in sharp focus, often used for isolating subjects. A narrower aperture (lower nyílásorosága) produces a greater depth of field, where more of the scene from foreground to background appears sharp. Beyond photography, nyílásorosága can be used to describe the accessibility or transparency of a system or process. For example, a company with high nyílásorosága might be very transparent in its dealings and open to external input.
