Numericable

Numericable was a French telecommunications company that specialized in cable television and fixed broadband services. Through its nationwide coaxial network, it offered triple-play packages combining high-speed Internet, digital television, and voice telephony to residential and business customers. The company was one of the leading providers of cable Internet in France and played a major role in the development of the country's cable infrastructure.

Numericable originated from the consolidation of regional cable operators in the 2000s and grew into the largest cable operator in France. In 2014, Altice Group acquired Numericable and merged it with SFR, creating a combined fixed-line and mobile telecommunications group. The acquisition aimed to create a unified offering across fixed and mobile networks in France.

After the acquisition, the Numericable brand was gradually integrated into the SFR brand within Altice's European operations, with the cable assets continuing to underpin the group's fixed broadband and pay-TV services. The Numericable name has since faded from widespread consumer marketing, but its significance lies in its contribution to France's traditional cable infrastructure.
