Numbrirühmad

Numbrirühmad, often translated as "number groups" or "numerical sets," is a concept primarily found in elementary mathematics education in Estonia. It refers to the systematic organization of numbers into distinct categories based on shared properties. The typical progression begins with the numbrirühmad of natural numbers, which includes positive whole numbers starting from one. This is then expanded to include zero, forming the set of whole numbers. Further development introduces the concept of integers, encompassing both positive and negative whole numbers and zero. Later stages might explore rational numbers, which can be expressed as a fraction of two integers, and real numbers, which include all rational and irrational numbers.
