Nonsuit
Nonsuit, also known as a directed verdict or judgment as a matter of law, is a procedural device in the legal system. It allows a judge to dismiss a case before it goes to a jury or before the jury reaches a verdict. This typically occurs when the judge determines that one party has failed to present sufficient evidence to support their claim or defense. Essentially, the judge rules that no reasonable jury could find in favor of that party based on the evidence presented.
