Nietproliferatieve
Nietproliferatieve refers to a medical condition characterized by the absence of abnormal cell growth or multiplication. This term is most commonly used in the context of ophthalmology to describe non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy. In this condition, blood vessels in the retina begin to leak fluid or blood, but there is no significant growth of new, abnormal blood vessels. This is an earlier stage of diabetic retinopathy compared to proliferative diabetic retinopathy, where the abnormal vessel growth occurs.
The presence of microaneurysms, small bulges in the retinal blood vessels, is a hallmark of non-proliferative
