Newtoniaanse refers to concepts, laws, or theories that are based on the work of Isaac Newton. Most commonly, it relates to Newtonian mechanics, which is a description of motion and forces. Key principles of Newtonian mechanics include Newton's three laws of motion. The first law, the law of inertia, states that an object will remain at rest or in uniform motion in a straight line unless acted upon by an external force. The second law, F=ma, describes the relationship between force, mass, and acceleration, where force is equal to mass multiplied by acceleration. The third law states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Newtonian mechanics also encompasses Newton's law of universal gravitation, which explains the force of attraction between any two objects with mass. This law describes phenomena such as the orbits of planets around the sun and the falling of objects to the Earth. Newtonian physics provides a highly accurate approximation of the physical world for many everyday situations and at speeds much lower than the speed of light. While highly successful, it has been superseded in certain extreme conditions by Einstein's theories of relativity and quantum mechanics, which offer more comprehensive descriptions of gravity and motion at very high speeds or very small scales. Nevertheless, Newtonian concepts remain fundamental in many areas of physics and engineering.
