Neuvostoliittoa

Neuvostoliittoa, also known as the Soviet Union, was a socialist state that spanned much of Eurasia from 1922 to 1991. Its official name in Russian was Soyuz Sovetskikh Sotsialisticheskikh Respublik, often abbreviated as SSSR. The country was established following the Russian Revolution of 1917 and was led for decades by the Communist Party.

The Soviet Union was a vast, multi-ethnic nation that played a pivotal role in 20th-century global politics, particularly during the Cold War era. It was one of the two superpowers that emerged after World War II, alongside the United States, leading to a period of intense ideological and geopolitical rivalry. Key events in its history include the industrialization drives, the devastating impact of World War II, the space race, and its extensive nuclear arsenal.

Economically, the Soviet Union operated under a centrally planned system, where the state owned the means of production and dictated economic activity. While this system achieved significant industrial growth in certain sectors, it also faced challenges with efficiency, innovation, and consumer goods availability.
