Neurorrahia

Neurorrahia is a medical term that refers to the surgical repair of a peripheral nerve. Peripheral nerves are those found outside the brain and spinal cord, and they transmit signals between the central nervous system and the rest of the body. Damage to these nerves can result from trauma, such as cuts or crush injuries, or from conditions like compression or stretching.

The goal of neurorrahia is to restore nerve function and sensation. The procedure typically involves bringing the severed ends of the nerve together and suturing them. This can be done directly if the gap between the nerve ends is small.
