Nekrotikus

Nekrotikus is a term of Greek origin, derived from "nekros" meaning "dead" and referring to the process of death of cells or tissues in a living organism. This pathological condition, known as necrosis, occurs when cells are damaged beyond repair due to factors such as injury, infection, or lack of blood supply. The cellular changes associated with necrosis include irreversible alterations in cell membranes, organelles, and genetic material. Macroscopically, necrotic tissue often appears discolored, softened, or shrunken, depending on the type of necrosis.

There are several distinct types of necrosis, each characterized by specific morphological features and underlying causes. Coagulative necrosis is common in hypoxic conditions and is seen in organs like the heart and kidneys. Liquefactive necrosis, often associated with bacterial infections or brain infarction, results in the formation of a liquid mass. Caseous necrosis, typical of tuberculosis, presents as a cheesy, white material. Fat necrosis occurs in adipose tissue, often due to enzymatic activity or trauma. Gangrenous necrosis is a clinical term usually referring to the death of tissue due to a lack of blood supply, often affecting the extremities. Understanding the nature of necrosis is crucial for diagnosing and managing various diseases and injuries.
