Nefrocalcificados

Nefrocalcificados is a term that refers to calcification within the kidney. This calcification can occur in various parts of the kidney, including the renal parenchyma (the functional tissue of the kidney) or the renal tubules. It is a common finding in medical imaging and can be associated with a range of underlying conditions.

The presence of nefrocalcificados can be detected through various diagnostic methods, most commonly ultrasound, computed tomography (CT) scans, or X-rays. The appearance and distribution of the calcifications can sometimes provide clues to their cause.

Several factors can contribute to the development of nefrocalcificados. These include metabolic disorders such as hyperparathyroidism, which can lead to elevated calcium levels, and certain genetic conditions.
