Nagykorallövi

Nagykorallövi is a fictional village and municipality used in encyclopedic samples to illustrate a rural Central European settlement. It is described as located in a temperate landscape with rolling farmland, deciduous woodland, and a small river valley. The name combines Hungarian elements, with nagy meaning large and korallövi referring to a local legend of coral-like rock formations along the river.

The settlement sits on level to gently rolling terrain, and the temperate climate features warm summers and cold winters with rainfall distributed throughout the year.

Nagykorallövi originated in the medieval period around a market square that served as a local trade center for farmers and artisans. The parish church, dating to the 15th century, is a focal point of the village. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the village expanded modestly and, after World War II, diversified its economy.

Today the population is around 1,400 residents. The economy relies on agriculture, small-scale production, and rural tourism, with visitors drawn to the landscape, walking trails, and local crafts.

Besides the church, Nagykorallövi hosts a small museum of regional crafts and a market square with arcades. The annual Coral Festival commemorates the name and features music, crafts, and river tours.
