Nadella

Nadella is a surname of Indian origin. It is best known internationally from Satya Narayana Nadella, an Indian-American business executive who has served as the chief executive officer of Microsoft since 2014.

Satya Nadella was born on August 19, 1967, in Hyderabad, India. He earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the Manipal Institute of Technology, a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He joined Microsoft in 1992 and held leadership roles in multiple divisions, culminating in leadership of the Cloud and Enterprise group before being named CEO.

Since becoming CEO, Nadella has guided Microsoft toward growth in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and subscription services. Under his stewardship, the company has pursued strategic acquisitions such as LinkedIn in 2016 and GitHub in 2018, expanding its presence across enterprise, developer, and consumer segments. He has emphasized collaboration, inclusive leadership, and the integration of Microsoft’s products across platforms and communities.

Nadella is married to Anupama “Anu” Nadella, and they have three children. Beyond his corporate role, he is recognized for advocacy related to technology accessibility and the ethical and societal implications of technology, often speaking about the responsible use of digital tools to address global challenges.
