Nachgeburtsphase
The Nachgeburtsphase, also known as the third stage of labor or the placental stage, is the period following the birth of the baby and preceding the complete expulsion of the placenta and fetal membranes. This phase is crucial for the mother's recovery and begins immediately after the umbilical cord is cut.
During the Nachgeburtsphase, the uterus, which has been contracting to push the baby out, continues to contract.
