Nabucco
Nabucco, also known as Nabucodonosor in some editions, is an Italian-language opera in four acts composed by Giuseppe Verdi. The libretto was written by Temistocle Solera and is based on a story drawn from biblical accounts of the Babylonian exile and the fate of the Jewish people. The work premiered on 9 March 1842 at La Scala in Milan, and it is regarded as Verdi’s breakthrough opera, establishing him as a leading figure in Italian theater music.
