NOPORL1, also known as NOP-R or nociceptin opioid peptide receptor like 1, is a G protein-coupled receptor that is a member of the opioid receptor family. It is primarily expressed in the brain and spinal cord, with highest levels found in the prefrontal cortex, hippocampus, and amygdala. NOPORL1 is activated by nociceptin/orphanin FQ (N/OFQ), a neuropeptide that plays a role in pain modulation, anxiety, and learning and memory.
