NFCteknik

NFCteknik refers to the field of near-field communication technology, its standards, and its practical uses. NFC enables short-range wireless communication between compatible devices or between a device and an NFC tag when they are held within a few centimeters. It typically operates at 13.56 MHz and can support data rates from about 106 to 424 kbps, depending on the mode and protocol.

In operation, NFC devices can function in three modes: reader/writer, card emulation, and peer-to-peer. Passive tags draw power from the reader’s magnetic field, while active devices can communicate and power themselves. This flexibility allows a range of interactions from reading information on a tag to exchanging data between two devices or authenticating a payment card.

Standards play a key role in NFC technology. ISO/IEC 14443 and ISO/IEC 15693 define communication with contactless cards and tags, covering proximity and vicinity technologies. ISO/IEC 18092 (NFCIP-1) specifies the interface and basic protocol. The NFC Forum provides additional specifications for data formats, command sets, and NFC tag types to ensure interoperability across devices and services.

Applications of NFCteknik are broad and include contactless payments, transit tickets, and access control, as well as data exchange by tapping two devices or tapping a phone to launch apps or web links. It is widely used in marketing through smart posters and in device pairing (for example, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi setup).

Security and privacy depend on implementation. NFC can be secured with tokenization and secure elements, but risks such as eavesdropping or relay attacks exist if protections are not used.
