Näytönohjausjä

Näytönohjausjä is a Finnish term that translates to "graphics card cooler" or "GPU cooler." It refers to the cooling system attached to a graphics processing unit (GPU) on a computer's graphics card. The primary function of a näytönohjausjä is to dissipate the heat generated by the GPU during operation. GPUs are powerful processors that perform complex graphical calculations, and this process creates a significant amount of heat. Without adequate cooling, the GPU can overheat, leading to performance throttling, instability, or even permanent damage.

Näytönohjausjä typically consist of a heatsink, which is a metal component with fins designed to increase surface area, and one or more fans. Heat from the GPU is transferred to the heatsink, often through a thermal interface material like thermal paste. The fans then blow air across the heatsink's fins, carrying the heat away from the card and out of the computer case.
