Näppäinlukkotoimintoja, commonly known as toggle keys or sticky keys, are accessibility features found on most computer operating systems. These functions alter the behavior of modifier keys such as Shift, Ctrl, Alt, and the Windows key. Instead of requiring the user to press and hold multiple keys simultaneously, toggle keys allow the user to press and release modifier keys one at a time. For instance, to perform a Shift+A operation, a user with toggle keys enabled might press Shift, release it, and then press A.

The primary purpose of toggle keys is to assist users who have difficulty performing simultaneous key presses due to physical limitations or motor impairments. By requiring sequential presses, they reduce the dexterity required for complex keyboard shortcuts.

There are typically two main types of toggle key functions. Sticky Keys allows modifier keys to be "locked" down until the next key is pressed. For example, pressing Shift would make the next letter typed uppercase without needing to hold Shift. Another related function is Filter Keys, which can ignore brief or repeated keystrokes, helping users who might accidentally press a key multiple times. Filter Keys also allows for adjustment of key repeat rates and delay times.

These features are usually found within the accessibility or ease of access settings of an operating system. Users can typically enable or disable them and configure specific options to suit their individual needs. Accessing toggle keys is often done through keyboard shortcuts themselves, such as pressing the Shift key five times in rapid succession, although this shortcut can usually be disabled.
