Mælkebanker
Mælkebanker is a Danish term that translates literally to "milk banker." It refers to a traditional method of storing milk in a cool environment, typically a cellar or a dedicated cold storage area, before the widespread availability of refrigeration. The milk would be placed in earthenware or stoneware containers, often large crocks or pitchers, and kept as cool as possible to slow down spoilage.
