Mátra

Mátra is the highest mountain range in Hungary, located in northern Hungary, approximately 100 kilometers northeast of Budapest. The range is characterized by its volcanic origins, with the highest peak, Kékes, reaching an elevation of 1,014 meters (3,327 feet). Kékes is the highest point in Hungary and is a popular destination for hiking and skiing.
