Munkácsy
Munkácsy is the commonly used name for Mihály Munkácsy, a Hungarian painter. Born Michael Leo Lieb in Munkács, Hungary (now Mukachevo, Ukraine) in 1844, he became one of Hungary's most renowned artists. Munkácsy initially trained as a carpenter but later pursued painting, studying in Budapest, Düsseldorf, and finally Munich and Paris.
