Multipleline

SQL and shell scripts also commonly represent statements on multiple lines using appropriate syntax or separators. Handling newline characters is essential for correct parsing and rendering.

In user interfaces, multiline input is provided by textarea controls, allowing users to enter multiple lines. Rendering often involves preserving line breaks or converting them to suitable elements (for example, br tags in HTML). Accessibility considerations emphasize appropriate labels and instructions for multiline fields.

In data formats and networking, different operating systems use different end-of-line markers (LF, CRLF). Normalization or explicit handling of line endings is important for cross-platform compatibility and for transmission of multiline content.
