Moppars

A moppar is a colloquial term, primarily used in some parts of Britain, to refer to a type of absorbent cleaning cloth or mop. This term is often applied to cloths made of synthetic materials, such as microfiber, or traditional cotton-based mops used for domestic or industrial cleaning purposes. The word itself is thought to be a portmanteau of "mop" and "cloth" or a diminutive form of "mop."

Moppars are designed to absorb liquids and to pick up dirt and debris from surfaces like floors, countertops, and other washable areas. Their effectiveness stems from their material composition, which allows them to hold a significant amount of water or cleaning solution, and to be easily wrung out. They can be used dry for dusting or damp for cleaning and sanitizing.

While the term is informal, it accurately describes a common household and cleaning implement. The specific design and material of a moppar can vary, but its fundamental purpose remains consistent: to facilitate the cleaning process through absorption and wiping.
