Moottoriventtiilejä, commonly known as engine valves, are critical components in internal combustion engines. They regulate the flow of the fuel-air mixture into the combustion chamber and the exhaust gases out of it. Typically, an engine has at least two valves per cylinder: an intake valve and an exhaust valve. Some engines, particularly high-performance ones, may have more, such as four valves per cylinder (two intake, two exhaust) or even five valves.
The intake valve opens to allow the fuel-air mixture to enter the cylinder during the intake stroke.
