Montu

Montu is an ancient Egyptian deity associated primarily with war, predation, and protection. Considered a falcon-headed god, Montu was often depicted wearing a headdress with a papyrus or vulture. His name translates to "the one who dominates," emphasizing his martial prowess and authority in combat.

Montu was particularly worshipped in Upper Egypt, with major cult centers established in Thebes and Karnak. His primary attributes include strength, victory, and the sun’s vigor, linking him closely with the sun god Ra. As a war god, Montu was invoked for strength in battles and protection from enemies, often depicted in temples engaging in combat or in fierce posture.
