Monoromantic is a romantic orientation characterized by experiencing romantic attraction to only one gender. This means a monoromantic person might be attracted to men, women, or any other gender, but they will only be attracted to that specific gender and no others. For example, someone who is only attracted to women would be monoromantic and identify as straight or a lesbian depending on their gender identity. Similarly, someone only attracted to men would be monoromantic and identify as straight or gay.

The term monoromantic is often used within the broader asexual and aromantic community to differentiate from orientations like biromantic or panromantic, which involve attraction to multiple genders. Monoromantic individuals can have a variety of gender identities. Their romantic orientation is distinct from their sexual orientation, though they may align.
