Monitoravim

Monitoravim is an open-source monitoring and analytics platform for Vim editor deployments. It collects telemetry on editor startup time, plugin load order, session duration, and errors, while offering dashboards and alerts. The system targets teams using Vim and Neovim in development and production environments and aims to help diagnose performance bottlenecks and plugin conflicts.

Its components include a lightweight editor plugin, a data-collection agent, and a central server with a web interface. The editor plugin supports Vimscript-based Vim and Lua-enabled Neovim, emitting events such as startup, plugin initialization, mode changes, and errors. The agent runs locally and forwards anonymized data to the central server over HTTPS. The server stores metrics, exposes a REST API, and renders dashboards for trends and alerts.

Security and privacy are core considerations. Data collection is opt-in and can be disabled at any time.
