Mohe

Mohe, or Mohe City, is a county-level city in Heilongjiang Province, China. It is administered by the prefecture-level city of Heihe and is widely regarded as the northernmost city-level division in the country, located near the border with Russia.

Geographically, Mohe lies in the far north of Heilongjiang and sits in a boreal forest zone with river valleys and taiga. The landscape is typical of northern Heilongjiang and features long, cold winters and relatively short summers.

The climate is subarctic in character, with winters that are very long and cold and summers that are brief and cool.

Economically, Mohe has a foundation in forestry and agriculture, with growing emphasis on tourism that highlights its extreme northern latitude. The Beiji area within Mohe is marketed as the northernmost point in China and attracts visitors.

Administratively, Mohe governs several towns and rural townships under its jurisdiction. The city lies near the Russia border, and cross-border exchanges and regional trade have a regional significance.
